CDC tells unvaccinated Americans to stay home for the holidays

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended unvaccinated Americans stay home for the holidays until they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

“We fully expect that families and friends will gather for the holidays this year and we have updated our guidance on how to best to stay safe over the holidays,” the CDC said Friday in a statement.

“Holiday traditions are important for families and children. Because many generations tend to gather to celebrate holidays, the best way to minimize COVID-19 risk and keep your family and friends safer is to get vaccinated if you’re eligible,” it added.

The CDC’s recommendations also suggested those who do travel should receive COVID-19 testing, quarantine for a week and wear a mask.

It Never Ends

The CDC’s advice did not end with guidelines for unvaccinated travelers. People “with weakened immune systems” could be at risk even if they are fully vaccinated, have taken a third booster shot and should still take the same precautions as the unvaccinated.

This includes social distancing and mask wearing.

The unbelievable guidelines, if practiced completely, would end any realistic opportunity for travel or celebration of the holidays with loved ones.

Regardless of the rules, the “guidelines” never seem to end or be sufficient to cover every detail.

Americans Push Back

The CDC’s overbearing advice has led to more Americans pushing back and standing for their freedoms. This includes everything from protests against vaccine mandates to college football games with more than 100,000 fans in attendance.

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul tweeted his support of In-N-Out Burger after it was shut down in San Francisco for not enforcing proof of vaccination.

The CDC may want to stop Americans from living free, but freedom is what makes the nation great. Many are unwilling to put the CDC’s advice in charge of their travel plans, choosing instead to celebrate as they wish.
