After two years, mask theater on airplanes is finally coming to an end — and a Trump-appointed judge was the one to deliver the death blow.
In a bold decision Monday that had many Americans cheering, Florida judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle struck down Biden’s arbitrary, draconian public transportation mandate as an unlawful exercise of power.
Trump judge ends public transport mask mandate
Congress never authorized the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to indiscriminately detain people for not wearing masks, Mizelle said, noting that the mandate applies to all travelers on planes, buses, and trains regardless of their health status.
With its mandate, the CDC is asserting powers over interstate travel “ordinarily limited to individuals entering the United States from a foreign country,” she said.
The Biden regime justified its mandate with an extraordinarily broad interpretation of its power over “sanitation” that would allow the government to micromanage the behavior of American citizens, even requiring “mandatory social distancing, coughing-into-elbows, and daily multivitamins,” Mizelle said.
The ruling led all major airlines — which had been lobbying Biden to end the restrictions — to immediately drop their mandates. The exhilaration of the moment airline passengers received the news mid-flight was captured on social media.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is your pilot speaking. This is the most important announcement I’ve ever made. The federal mask mandate is over. Take off your mask if you choose!”

Biden “disappointed,” libs furious
In a gesture of solidarity with President Biden’s dwindling base of neurotic progressive authoritarians, the White House said it was “disappointed” with the decision to end the mandate that Biden issued on his second day in office.
Biden, despite taking credit for a return to normalcy, renewed the mandate again last week. But after Mizelle’s ruling, the administration said that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) would no longer enforce the rule. Amtrak, Uber, and major airports are among those also dropping mandates.
Of course, liberal nitwits who have made obeying arbitrary “public health” rituals into their personal religion over the past two years bewailed the decision and attacked Mizelle’s credentials. Many noted that the judge received a “not qualified” rating from the far-left American Bar Association.
To say that it’s too soon to move on from two years of abusive government overreach is ludicrous. It is also an increasingly unpopular view. A recent poll found that just 9 percent of Americans think COVID is still a “serious crisis.”
Mizelle should be applauded for delivering the coup de grace to this shameful and deeply un-American social experiment.
