At least publicly, Andrew Cuomo is a big believer in masks.
But in the latest example of the Democrat’s hypocrisy, the New York governor was caught on camera walking his dog without a face covering, Breitbart reported Tuesday.
The photo shows a smiling, maskless Cuomo walking his dog on a city block in what appears — based on images of a Chinese restaurant seen in the background — to be Albany, the state capital. While it’s unclear when the photo was taken, it appears to be recent, as a woman also seen in the photo is wearing a mask.
In April, Cuomo said he wears a mask when he walks his dog, according to the Hudson Valley Post. “I wear the mask and my daughter wears a mask,” the governor remarked. “The dog doesn’t wear a mask.”
As Breitbart reported, a photo shared by Fox News meteorology Janice Dean showed otherwise:

“Wear a mask”
This is just the latest instance of Cuomo ignoring his own coronavirus rules. In July, he was spotted glad-handing the mayor of Savannah, Georgia, without a face covering, according to the New York Post.
Cuomo’s hypocrisy might be somewhat forgivable if he were not so vehement and condescending about having New Yorkers wear masks. In snarky tweets and press conferences, the Democrat has constantly shamed his own residents for not covering their faces, calling it the “patriotic thing” to do and a simple matter of “respect,” as Breitbart noted.
“Wear a mask. Stop the spread. Protect yourself,” Cuomo tweeted Monday. The governor has proven just as eager to punish businesses that fail to follow his orders, from mask rules to bizarre ordinances governing what food bars are allowed to serve.
In fact, Cuomo is so passionate about masks that he thinks all 330 million Americans should be forced to wear them. The governor has called for a national mask mandate, Breitbart reported separately, saying that President Donald Trump should “lead by example.”
In general, Cuomo has been eager to boast about his response to the virus — despite New York having a higher death toll than any state — and reluctant to accept blame for deaths, including thousands of nursing home residents who perished as a result of a disastrous policy requiring nursing homes to accept coronavirus patients.
Despite the nursing home scandal, Cuomo suggested in a recent interview that his one mistake in handling COVID-19 was failing to enact his April mask mandate sooner, saying it would have made a “dramatic difference,” according to the New York Post. But it looks like for Cuomo, it’s all just rhetoric.
