MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle rebuked Kamala Harris over the southern U.S. border crisis on Monday as thousands of foreign migrants camped out under a bridge in Texas.
The images of the Del Rio International Bridge, as Fox News reported, are perhaps the most startling to surface yet of an unrelenting invasion that President Joe Biden and his supporters in the media have ignored for months, making Ruhle’s rare criticism a bit surprising.
MSNBC slams Harris
Harris has been criticized mostly by conservative media and Republican lawmakers for neglecting the border crisis after Biden gave her the role of “border czar.”
Echoing criticism on the right, Ruhle said that migrants are not listening to the administration’s pleas for them to stay in their native countries.
“How about the message from our Vice President? Where is she?” Ruhle asked. “She was supposed to be in charge of all of these migration issues, going to those Northern Triangle countries that’s obviously not Haiti.”
Ruhle even used the term “illegally” to describe what migrants are brazenly doing, the Daily Caller noted.
While Harris has officially warned migrants not to come to the United States, they have clearly received a different message since the administration flung the southern border wide open in January.
What a joke
Harris has sought to blame the crisis on so-called “root causes” in countries like Guatemala, but her focus on Central American is myopic, as Ruhle noted.
Migrants from all over the world are rushing the border, and there is no mystery as to why. They believe, accurately, that Biden and Harris are not serious leaders who have no intention of enforcing the immigration laws. More than 1 million migrants, USA Today reported, have already been caught this year.
Harris waited months to see the border, and before that, she did herself no favors when she was unable to explain her reluctance, saying she had not “been to Europe” either. Even now, Biden and his allies are pushing for an amnesty for eight million illegal immigrants, according to the Associated Press.
On Tuesday, Harris said she was “deeply troubled” not by the invasion, but Border Patrol agents on horseback who she threw under the bus for trying to stop it.
As many have noted, the crisis appears to be purposeful. To be crude, it’s the most destructive voter registration drive in the Democratic party’s history. No administration that cares about the American people would govern this way.
