AOC claims she wasn’t faking her arrest during abortion protest

In her latest stunt, far-left congresswoman and political performance artist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was “arrested” during an abortion protest on Tuesday.

The “Squad” leader insisted that she wasn’t faking when she pretended to be handcuffed outside the Supreme Court, the New York Post reported.

AOC’s latest stunt

AOC had been seen smirking as a Capitol Police officer took her away. Her hands were clasped conspicuously behind her back — except AOC wasn’t wearing handcuffs. An ally of AOC’s, Ilhan Omar (D-MN), also appeared to imitate being handcuffed.

While AOC was in fact arrested, along with 16 other Democratic lawmakers who joined the protest, she was roundly mocked for dramatizing the incident. She will have to pay a $50 fine.

As is often the case for Democrats, their messaging surrounding the abortion protest was far from subtle. Democrats are seeking to leverage outrage over the repeal of Roe V. Wade to fire up their base and paint Republicans as extreme ahead of the midterm elections.

To hammer that message home as bluntly as possible, lawmakers raised their fists in solidarity and later bragged about being arrested for “freedom.”

AOC does it again

After their encounter with police, the “Squad” took a group selfie together, just to accentuate the “danger” they were in.

AOC has famously claimed that she thought she was going to die during the January 6th Capitol riot, even though she was in a different building when the riot occurred. In 2018, she staged a notoriously tearful photo-op near a migrant facility at the southern border.

But AOC insisted to skeptics on Twitter that she wasn’t “faking” during Tuesday’s abortion drama.

“No faking here,” she wrote. “Putting your hands behind your back is a best practice while detained, handcuffed or not, to avoid escalating charges like resisting arrest.”

On some level, you have to respect AOC’s hustle. Does she have any shame at all?
