An insider with knowledge of Hunter Biden’s business ties has implicated Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in the scandal — and it happened on the same day that the candidate was challenged to explain himself in front of millions of Americans.
The younger Biden’s former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, has claimed that the former vice president was aware of his son’s ties in communist China, according to the Daily Caller.
“Biden family business dealings”
At a press conference about 90 minutes before the final presidential debate, Bobulinski said that he met Joe Biden in 2017 and that he was “plainly familiar” with his son’s interests in communist China, where Bobulinski was the CEO of a company called SinoHawk Holdings.
“In my hour-long meeting with Joe Biden we discussed Biden family business dealings with the Chinese, with which he was plainly familiar,” Bobulinski said, according to the Daily Caller.
Biden avoided campaigning in the lead-up to Thursday night’s showdown, as the candidate struggled to clear up recent questions about his involvement in his son’s business. The New York Post recently published damning emails apparently showing that he knew more than he acknowledged publicly, but Democrats have dismissed the information as a Russian hoax.
Bobulinski, a Navy veteran, said that he had no political motive in sharing what he knows and showed three cell phones containing evidence.
“I have no wish to bury anyone,” he said, according to the Post. “I’ve never been political. The few contributions I have made have been to Democrats. But what I am is a patriot, and a veteran, to protect my family name, and my business reputation, I need to ensure that the true facts are out there.”
“The big guy”
Also Thursday, Bobulinski said that Joe Biden is indeed the “big guy” mentioned in a May 2017 email first published by the New York Post, as Fox News reported.
Bobulinski was invited by President Donald Trump to the debate, where the president went on the attack over his rival’s putative role in helping Hunter Biden collect money around the world like a “vacuum cleaner.”
“You’re ‘the big man,’ I think. Your son said, ‘We have to give 10% to the big man.’ Joe, what’s that all about? It’s terrible,” Trump said.
The Biden campaign called Bobulinski’s claims a “desperate, pathetic farce executed by a flailing campaign,” according to Fox.
In any case, Bobulinski reportedly met with the FBI on Friday, and he plans to do the same with members of the Senate.
