At Trump rally in Georgia, Matt Gaetz suggests Trump could take Pelosi’s job

With Joe Biden’s presidency in shambles, a comeback by Donald Trump in 2024 is beginning to look like a distinct possibility. But it may not be the only nightmare scenario Democrats should be dreading.

At a Trump rally in Georgia on Saturday, Florida Republican Matt Gaetz (R-FL) suggested he would make Trump the Speaker of the House if Republicans win back Congress in November, the Washington Examiner reports.

Nightmare situation for Dems

Gaetz said that if Republicans take back the majority, they will impeach Joe Biden and give Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) job to Trump. The Constitution does not require the speaker to be an elected lawmaker.

“Give us the ability to fire Nancy Pelosi, take back the majority, impeach Joe Biden, and I’m going to nominate Donald J. Trump for speaker of the United States House of Representatives!” Gaetz said.

Trump seems much more interested in the presidency, however, having dropped a number of hints since leaving office about a 2024 bid. After Gaetz finished his bit, Trump said drily, “That was interesting,” to laughs from the crowd. He once again teased a 2024 comeback, saying he won both times he ran and adding, “We just may have to do it again.”

Trump entertains, inspires

Over the course of his 90-minute speech, Trump provided plenty of laughs and some inspiring words for Americans suffering through the disastrous Biden era. While America is in dire shape, Trump said he believes Americans will never give in to left-wing “tyrants” who he said are discrediting themselves.

“It is time to start talking about greatness for our country,” he said.

Numerous polls have shown that Trump is overtaking Biden, and Trump did not hesitate to slam his faltering rival on everything from the economy to the southern border and the crisis in Ukraine. He mocked Democrats for being more worried about climate change than the possibility of nuclear war erupting.

Doing a send-up of John Kerry, Trump said, “The ocean will rise one-hundredth of one percent over the next three hundred f-cking years.”

Ketanji Jackson, Hunter Biden

Trump also endorsed the rights of parents to object to twisted race and gender theories being taught to their kids and slammed the left’s push to include male athletes in women’s sports, taking a moment to rip Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Jackson’s now-notorious response to a question about gender.

“If she can’t even say what a woman is, how on Earth can she be trusted to say what the Constitution is?” Trump said.

While the left continues to blast Trump for saying the 2020 election was improper, Trump took note of the New York Times recently admitting that Hunter Biden’s laptop is authentic and not “Russian disinformation,” as the media falsely claimed in refusing to cover the major pre-election story.
