Bannon predicts Pres. Biden’s impeachment

Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist, has joined those who are predicting President Joe Biden’s impeachment, should the Republicans retake Congress later this year.

Bannon’s prediction came on Monday during an episode of his podcast “War Room.”

“We’re not going to back down”

Bannon suggested that the grounds for Biden’s impeachment, at least in part, will be the southern border crisis that Biden and his administration have created over the past year.

“You have stood down ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and you’ve stood down Border Patrol, and guess what? That’s the impeachment hearing I want to hear,” Bannon said, referring to Biden.

Reports indicate that nearly 2 million illegal immigrant apprehensions took place in 2021 at the southern border, which was a significant increase from previous years. And, critics argue that this is because of the lax immigration policies enacted by Biden.

Bannon continued:

You’re going to sit there day after day and week after week and we’re going to bring the witnesses. We’re going to bring the witnesses of what you did to this country and what you did on the southern border.

Bannon went on to suggest that, after being impeached, Biden will face “criminal charges for allowing this country to be invaded by your actions.”

“Acts of commission not acts of omission,” Bannon said. “We’re not going to back down, so write it down. This November is about one thing: it’s impeaching Joe Biden to stop this madness and to stop this illegitimate regime from destroying our nation.”

“Multiple grounds”

Besides Bannon, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has also predicted that an impeachment proceeding against Biden could happen next year if Republicans take back the House, which they are expected to do.

“If we take the House, which I said is overwhelmingly likely, then I think we will see serious investigations of the Biden administration,” Cruz said, going on to state that those investigations could lead to impeachment.

Cruz argued that, at this point, it doesn’t really matter whether or not the impeachment would be justified as the Democrats “weaponized impeachment” by impeaching former President Donald Trump twice.

Cruz went on to argue that there are “potentially multiple grounds” upon which Biden can be impeached. But, Cruz, like Bannon, believes that Biden’s “utter lawlessness” with regard to the southern border is likely the “strongest grounds right now.”
