Barack Obama compares political dissent to ‘sewage’ in disturbing speech calling for more censorship

Although he is no longer in the political spotlight, Barack Obama is using his presidential legacy to help push the left’s agenda of complete social control.

In a deeply Orwellian speech at Stanford University, the former president said that more censorship on platforms like Facebook and Twitter is necessary to save “democracy,” Breitbart reported.

Obama calls for free speech crackdown

Of course, it was a speech filled with unintentional irony. For example, Obama said that he is “pretty close to a First Amendment absolutist.” He is certainly an absolutist, just not in the way he described. As Obama went on to compare contrary opinions to “sewage” polluting the public square, it became very clear that he has a very peculiar definition of free speech.

“People like Putin and Steve Bannon for that matter understand it’s not necessary for people to believe disinformation in order to weaken democratic institutions, you just have to flood the public square with enough raw sewage,” he said.

Asserting a monopoly on truth, Obama said that Americans are increasingly unable to “distinguish between fact, opinion, and wholesale fiction.” Of course, Obama didn’t say a word about his party’s role in fostering public mistrust of the political and especially the medical establishment.

As Obama continued on his rant, he drew a direct connection between his idea of speech-as-a-pollutant and the COVID pandemic that lefties abused for their own gain — lamenting that the status quo lets people challenge the orthodoxy in medical science epitomized by Anthony Fauci.

Echoing the authoritarian rhetoric often heard on MSNBC and CNN these days, Obama regretted that “misinformation” encouraging skepticism of the Democratic party’s mandatory COVID vaccine has gotten people “killed.”

Obama’s war on democracy

While most Americans believe that America’s political climate has become too repressive, Obama said that so-called “content moderation” doesn’t “go far enough” and that the government must introduce regulations to keep “democracy” healthy.

As Obama put it in his moralizing remarks, “We have a choice right now: Do we allow our democracy to wither? Or do we make it better?”

But Obama and his buddies have spread plenty of disinformation of their own, and it has done real harm to democracy — the real thing, not the phony “our democracy” they like to prattle on about, in which they have complete control of all political decision making.

Among the most chilling examples, they shut down a scandalous story about then-presidential candidate Joe Biden in 2020 using the false pretext that it was a Russian hoax, and then, after the Capitol “insurrection,” blacklisted a sitting president — who they baselessly accused for years of being a Russian agent.

Where does Obama think he gets the credibility to give lectures on democracy? Is he a cynic, or such a narcissistic ideologue that he doesn’t hear the words coming out of his own mouth?
