Biden accidentally ‘endorses’ Trump while attempting to promote campaign

Following a surprise victory on Super Tuesday, former Vice President Joe Biden regained his title of Democratic Party frontrunner.

However, Biden’s verbal skills appear not to have improved. During a Saturday event in Kansas City, Missouri, he had his most spectacular collapse yet.

Biden endorses Trump?

Biden declared, “You want a nominee that will bring this party together, who will run a progressive, positive campaign, and turn this primary from a campaign that’s about negative attacks into one about what we’re for because we cannot re-elect, we cannot win this re-election, excuse me, we can only re-elect Donald Trump if, in fact, we get engaged in this circular firing squad here.”

A Daily Wire report noted that the former vice president flubbed his speech despite reading the lines from a teleprompter.

His words prompted mockery from Eric Trump, who tweeted, “They are going to start hiding this guy… could you imagine being on his campaign – they must be mortified every time he takes the stage.”

Trump Adviser Mercedes Schlapp expressed criticism of Biden’s speaking performance as well, tweeting, “It’s so bad!!!”

A pattern of behavior

Biden’s mistake was just the latest example in a campaign that has become notorious for gaffes and embarrassing missteps. During the South Carolina debate, he suggested that half the US population had been lost to gun violence.

“Imagine if I stood here and said we give immunity to drug companies, we give immunity to tobacco companies. That has caused carnage on our streets,” Biden said in an exchange with Sen. Bernie Sanders.

“One hundred and fifty million people have been killed since 2007 when Bernie voted to exempt the gun manufacturers from liability, more than all the wars, including Vietnam from that point on.”

What’s more, he declared during a South Carolina speech that he was running for a seat in the US Senate and told voters who didn’t like him to “vote for the other Biden.” In fact, Biden left the Senate over a decade ago.

Many observers have attributed these incidents to Biden’s age, but Dr. Marc Siegel told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that they could be lingering effects of a brain aneurysm that he suffered in 1988.

Siegel explained that the condition can do long-term damage to a patient, with “thinking, orientation, and memory” all being impacted.
