Biden admin scrapping Title 42 will hurt Democratic candidates in November midterms

Democrats, by nearly every measure, already faced an uphill challenge in the upcoming 2022 November midterm elections.

However, as Fox News noted, President Joe Biden’s recent decision to completely do away with the successful Title 42 immigration policy will only further serve to hamstring Democratic candidates this year as the numbers of illegal immigrants making a dash for the U.S. border is expected to dramatically rise.

Officially, Title 42 will be formally rescinded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on May 23, and many analysts believe that the proverbial floodgates will open, which is especially concerning as the country has already faced record-setting numbers of illegals crossing the border.

Democrats not only have to wear the weight of Biden’s failed border policies for the upcoming midterms, but also Biden’s skyrocketing energy costs and record 40-year inflation that’s breaking the bank accounts of average American voters.

Answering for Biden

National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair noted that Democrats will have a tough time explaining Biden’s ridiculous decisions that have only served to make things worse.

“Every Democrat will have to answer for the Biden administration’s decision to turn their border crisis into a border catastrophe,” Sinclair said.

The order was originally issued early on in the pandemic under former President Donald Trump, which helped the administration expel countless illegals as they were captured at the border, instead of the usual waiting game that ties up resources for weeks and months.

“This is an American issue. I think it’s going to play everywhere,” NRCC chair Rep. Tom Emmer of Minnesota said of the nixing of one of the last remaining tools that can be used to turn away tens of thousands of illegal border jumpers each month.

Border districts

Republicans already have an advantage, only needing a handful of seats to gain back majority control of the House, but it appears that they’ll be especially targeting vulnerable districts that sit along the southern U.S. border, where the illegal immigration problem is so bad in local communities that it transcends voters’ political ideologies.

“Now they’re all powerless to stop Joe Biden from making the crisis even worse. American families are suffering because of Democrats’ reckless, open borders policies,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey.

Democratic candidates will also suffer from Biden’s disastrous approval ratings, which are already bad overall, but especially daunting and underwater on specific topics like the southern border crisis.

It’s truly no wonder why dozens of House Democrats have already announced their retirements and resignations ahead of the election, as it will undoubtedly be a political bloodbath.
