It appears that the Biden administration is gearing up to really launch an attack on unvaccinated Americans, as the new omicron variant continues to spread.
Breitbart reports that “government health officials in the Biden administration have discussed shifting the White House’s messaging to focus the public mind on severe instead of overall cases as the pandemic drags on.”
“A winter of severe illness and death”
Biden already gave an example of this approach on Thursday.
For unvaccinated: We are looking at a winter of severe illness and death, if you’re unvaccinated. For themselves, their family, and the hospital they’ll soon overwhelm.
It appears that this is the sort of language that the Biden administration is going to use in an attempt to get more Americans vaccinated and boosted against the coronavirus. It’s fear-mongering 101.
If what White House press secretary Jen Psaki says is true, there will likely be more of this sort of talk in Biden’s upcoming pre-Christmas speech.
In that speech, Psaki says that Biden will give a “stark warning” for unvaccinated Americans. He is also expected to unveil a new winter plan that will include encouraging people to get tested and vaccinated.
Are lockdowns coming?
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), says that he doesn’t expect another government-issued lockdown in response to the new omicron variant of the coronavirus. But, as you might have guessed, Fauci suggested there is a catch, namely, that you have to do what he says, which is get vaccinated and boosted.
Fauci’s comments came during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” where he was asked by Jon Karl:
So with that, and what you have described as, you know, the way to be prudent, the success of vaccines and boosters, we are not headed towards anything approaching the kind of lockdown we saw last year, are we?
“I don’t see that in the future if we do the things we’re talking about,” Fauci said before going off on a rant about the unvaccinated.
Jon, the thing that continues to be troublesome to me and my colleagues is the fact we have 50 million people in the country who are eligible to be vaccinated who are not vaccinated. When you have that degree of vulnerability, and you have a virus like Omicron that spreads so rapidly, it is quite likely that we are going to see in some sections of the country a significant stress on the hospital system as well as on the health care workers who are getting exhausted by all of this. So the stress is going to be there.
“I don’t foresee the kind of lockdowns that we’ve seen before, but I am certain of the potential for stress on our hospital system,” Fauci concluded.
