Biden appears to forget, stumble over name of George Floyd during speech

Critics have long alleged that President Joe Biden’s many bizarre — and at times nonsensical — statements are evidence of underlying, age-related cognitive decline.

A new video just handed those critics even more ammunition to bolster their claims, as it shows Biden struggling to remember the name of George Floyd, the Black man who died during a police encounter in Minnesota, which sparked a summer of violent riots in cities across the United States.

The footage was uploaded to YouTube by GOP War Room, and in it, the president can be seen speaking at South Carolina State University.

George who?

“On police reform, I share the frustration, and I know the family well the, George family and justice act and policing act, I know the family well,” the struggling, confused president said.

Biden was apparently referring to the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, a piece of Democrat-sponsored legislation that would limit qualified immunity for officers and lower the standard for criminal intent from “willful” to “knowing,” or “reckless.”

The incident is just the latest in a long line of similar instances that the public has witnessed of Biden mashing his words or recalling events that never actually happened.

False house fire story

Fox News reported that during a speech he gave last month on a New Hampshire bridge with regard to infrastructure spending, Biden claimed that his house once burned down while the first lady was still inside.

“Without this bridge, as I said earlier, it’s a 10-mile detour just to get to the other side,” the president said to a group of reporters.

“And I know, having had a house burn down with my wife in it — she got out safely, God willing — that having a significant portion of it burn, I can tell: 10 minutes makes a hell of a difference,” he added. However, Fox News cited a 2004 Associated Press report which said the Bidens experienced a “small fire that was contained to the kitchen.”

Another story debunked

In another example, Biden told supporters during last year’s presidential campaign that he was locked up in South Africa for attempting to visit the imprisoned Nelson Mandela.

Even the left-leaning fact-check website Snopes concluded that Biden’s claim of having been put behind bars in South Africa was false. What else has our president lied about?
