Biden caught coughing into hand before greeting crowd at recent event

President Joe Biden has portrayed himself as genuinely committed to reducing the spread of COVID-19 through vaccine mandates and other heavy-handed executive decrees.

At an event in New Jersey this week, however, the president was spotted coughing directly into his hand before shaking hands with individuals in attendance.

“Moments in time”

Directly after letting out a cough, Biden wanders off stage — without a mask — to interact with the crowd as Stars and Stripes Forever played in the background.

His apparent faux pas came after he was recently seen at an upscale restaurant sans facemask. When White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked about that incident, she dismissed concerns and insisted that it was nothing more than “moments in time.”

Of course, his lax personal etiquette stands in stark contrast to his aggressive rhetoric and policies aimed at ordinary Americans — particularly those who have not been vaccinated.

The president seems to have reneged on his earlier promise not to support federal vaccine mandates, shifting instead toward coercion and a promise to move GOP leaders “out of the way” of his plan to impose strict requirements.

“Look at the bigger story”

Biden recently insisted that the “vast majority of Americans are doing the right thing” by receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, complaining that unvaccinated Americans are “costing all of us.”

He has also defended the widespread termination of employees who refuse to get vaccinated, suggesting such drastic measures are necessary to control the pandemic.

“When you see headlines and reports of mass firings and hundreds of people losing their jobs, look at the bigger story,” he advised.

At the same time, however, it appears that the president cannot be bothered to wear a mask and cough into his arm instead of directly into the hand he intends to use when greeting those around him. Although there is no indication that the fully vaccinated president is sick, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who is also vaccinated, recently tested positive for COVID-19.

At the very least, it seems appropriate for the same man who is determined to impose strict mandates on American citizens to start by modeling the behavior he and other progressives insist is necessary to put an end to the pandemic.
