Biden caught with ‘cheat sheet’ of prepared ‘talking points’ about Putin

It has been said that President Joe Biden is simply not cognitively capable or mentally fit to be president of the United States, and on a near-daily basis he provides yet another piece of evidence to bolster that assertion.

The latest example is a photo of a notecard Biden held during a press conference Monday in which “talking points” in response to anticipated questions were prepared that he proceeded to read off almost verbatim in response to multiple questions, the Washington Examiner reported.

Those “talking points” had been prepared to counter expected queries on Biden’s gaffe over the weekend in Poland in which he appeared to call for a regime change in Russia and the ousting of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He closed that speech Saturday by declaring of Putin, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”

Prepared talking points recited almost word-for-word

Fast-forward to Monday and President Biden delivered a speech and took questions at an event to unveil his proposed 2023 budget, during which his “cheat sheet” in anticipation of questions about his remarks about Putin was photographed in his hand.

Based on the transcript of that event on Monday, it is clear that Biden used the prepared notes on that card almost word-for-word on more than one occasion in response to multiple questions on the topic.

Further, Biden refused to apologize for the provocative faux pas that had the potential to escalate and broaden the Russia-Ukraine conflict and even blatantly denied the undisputed fact that his own White House had been compelled to “walk back” his inflammatory rhetoric in the immediate aftermath on Saturday.

Abusing and exploiting a common aid

Now, to be sure, it is not unheard of for a president to use a notecard containing prepared talking points in anticipation of certain questions, and the Examiner noted that several of Biden’s predecessors have been photographed doing the same thing.

That said, according to the New York Post, the frequency with which Biden has been caught using a “cheat sheet” appears to be much greater than his predecessors, suggesting he requires that extra assistance to jog his memory of prepared talking points more than those who came before him.

In fact, the Post cited multiple instances from both the campaign trail and his year in office so far in which Biden has relied on notecards bearing talking points or specific facts and figures about a particular topic.

Moreso than that, even, are multiple instances noted by the Post in which Biden even appeared to have prepared notes listing reporters to call on in a predetermined order and the questions those designated reporters would likely ask.

Look — everyone could use a helpful reminder from time to time and there is nothing wrong with being prepared to answer certain expected queries. In Biden’s case, however, it seems like he requires such assistance much more often than is typical and suggests that he simply lacks the wherewithal to remember the prepared lines or think on his feet of an adequate response.
