While Hunter Biden’s questionable foreign business arrangements have been widely publicized, his father, President Joe Biden, has long claimed to have no direct knowledge of his son’s international dealings.
Due to the emergence of new photos that suggest Joe Biden was aware of his son’s dealings, which were reportedly taken from Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop, a Townhall writer suggested that congressional hearings might be in order if the mainstream media continues to turn a blind eye.
What’s going on?
In a piece published Friday, writer Matt Vespa pointed to a New York Post report detailing new revelations from Hunter Biden’s laptop — a laptop that has provided a trove of damning evidence suggesting that then-Vice President Biden was well aware of his son’s foreign business dealings.
The latest revelations include evidence that then-Vice President Joe Biden “invited Hunter’s foreign associates to breakfast meetings at his vice presidential residence and to his office in the White House.”
What’s more, the elder Biden “took his son on Air Force Two to countries where Hunter was doing deals, and on at least one occasion, included one of Hunter’s business partners on the trip.”
The pictures don’t lie
The report also notes that the brow-raising photographs “appear on the laptop, showing Joe posing with four of Hunter’s business associates, including Mexican billionaires Carlos Slim and Miguel Alemán Velasco.”
The pictures were taken at the vice president’s official residence, which is located in Washington, D.C.’s Naval Observatory. A note from the 2015 meeting reads, “Breakfast with Dad — NavObs.”
Vespa went on to observe how the reporting standards of mainstream media journalists have seemingly declined since 2016, adding that although reporters wanted former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to win, “they at least covered the shady dealing she had concerning what changed her mind over the Colombia Free Trade Agreement.”
Media looks the other way
In contrast, news outlets are now seemingly turning a blind eye toward the Biden family’s shady, international business dealings, even if it is detrimental to their long-term success.
As Vespa wrote, reporters “are torching their credibility in the process to save a Democrat,” resulting in them being “mocked and viewed as untrustworthy now.”
Given the media’s reluctance to investigate what often feels like their politically-aligned allies, Vespa sees no alternative other than GOP lawmakers launching an investigation, should they be in a position to do so.
“If Republicans retake the House and Senate in 2022, there should definitely be hearings into these matters,” Vespa added.
