Biden hires former intelligence official who dismissed Hunter Biden story

An intelligence analyst who helped elect Joe Biden by baselessly dismissing the Hunter Biden scandal as “Russian disinformation” has apparently been rewarded for his services with a gig in the Biden administration.

Ironically, Jeremy Bash will be working on Biden’s Intelligence Advisory Board, the Washington Examiner reported.

Biden hires intel analyst

On the eve of the 2020 election, Bash was among the dozens of former intel officials who flexed their credentials to interfere in the contest with a public alert that the New York Post’s expose of the Hunter Biden laptop was “Russian disinformation.”

The “Russian disinformation” talking point is no longer taken seriously even by Biden-friendly media, but at the time, it enabled Biden to dismiss a damaging scandal as “garbage” on national television.

Bash also pushed back on the Hunter Biden story on cable news, saying it “looks like a classic Russian playbook disinformation campaign” to dig up “supposed dirt” on Biden’s corruption.

“This looks like Russian intelligence. This walks like Russian intelligence. This talks like Russian intelligence,” Bash said at the time.

Because this story just wasn’t ironic enough, Bash even claimed that the Hunter Biden story was part of a “conspiracy to engage in election interference.” Speaking of conspiracies, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg admitted last week that his company suppressed the Hunter Biden story after a tip from the FBI.

Revolving door

Meanwhile, a top agent at Washington’s field office who blocked a probe of Hunter’s laptop recently resigned.

Bash is either not very adept at intelligence analysis, or he’s a cynical partisan. Either way, the Biden White House is welcoming him to a small group of intelligence “experts” who advise the president.

“He is the recipient of the Distinguished Intelligence Medal, the Clandestine Service’s Donovan Award, the CIA Director’s Award, and the Department of Defense Distinguished Public Service Medal,” the White House said.

Bash was chief of staff to Obama CIA chief Leon Panetta and, of course, is a pundit at MSNBC, where “national security analysts” with anti-Trump politics and intelligence backgrounds all seem to wind up, for some reason. The regime’s revolving door is now sending him back into the halls of government.

One can only fail upward by repeating the regime’s lies, apparently.
