‘You could not answer questions’: Biden tells Indian prime minister to ignore journalists

According to Breitbart, President Joe Biden told the prime minister of India on Friday to ignore journalists at the White House because they can’t “behave.”

It was just the latest sign of contempt for the media from Biden, who has been known to lash out at mostly loyal journalists when they ask him occasionally challenging questions.

Questions not “on point”

Biden complained that journalists in the American media don’t ask questions “on point” and encouraged Narendra Modi to dismiss them. He also said that Indian journalists are better “behaved” than American reporters, a comment that according to Fox News, left critics on the left balking, as Modi is seen as an illiberal leader.

“I think, with your permission, you could not answer questions because they won’t ask any questions on point,” Biden said.

“The Indian press is much better behaved than the American press,” Biden added. His comments were unsurprisingly left out of the White House’s transcript.

While Biden is right that American journalists don’t know how to “behave” like journalists anymore — they mostly act like partisan activists — his comments are striking, given how loyal the media generally has been to Biden and his party.

Shortly before the 2020 election, for example, the media conspired to shut down a major, scandalous story about Biden using his political influence to help his son’s business dealings.

Biden’s a puppet

Is it really possible that Biden doesn’t think the media support him enough? Talk about weakness.

But it’s no secret that Biden’s staff keep him closely controlled, and as the New York Post previously reported, Biden himself has acknowledged that he will “get in trouble” if he veers from the script of unseen others pulling the strings. But the White House is positively desperate to keep up appearances.

Just days before Biden’s comment to Modi, the White House blamed British Prime Minister Boris Johnson for Biden’s inability to answer questions spontaneously. White House staff had shooed journalists out of the Oval Office as Johnson was literally in the middle of a sentence.

Clearly, the media’s sycophantic loyalty has not won them any respect in Biden’s eyes. Once, Biden even joked about running over reporters in his car.

Biden would not last a single day under the kind of media scrutiny that former President Donald Trump dealt with, that’s for sure.
