Biden insists on wearing mask while walking alone outdoors

President Joe Biden is known for engaging in bizarre behaviors that have led many critics to question his mental health.

That phenomenon was on display again this week when the president insisted on wearing a mask despite walking alone while outdoors.

Puzzling decisions

In a video posted by the YouTube account GOP War Room, Biden can be seen fully masked as he makes his way to a waiting vehicle. Other individuals appear without masks in the footage but all of them are some distance away.

This is not the first time that the president’s mask use has raised eyebrows, as earlier this month the Washington Examiner published footage of a similar incident earlier this month.

In that instance, Biden insisted on being the only official to wear a mask while attending a signing ceremony for the Inflation Reduction Act.

However, the president at point removed his mask to cough on his hand, which he then used to shake the hands of lawmakers who were in attendance. They included West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House speaker Nancy Pelosi.

That course of action was made even odder by the fact that first lady Jill Biden had recently tested positive for COVID. The Examiner noted that guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lists coughing as being among the most common methods by which COVID is spread.

Friendly reminder from CNN

Biden was also mocked in the fall of 2020 when GOP rapid response director Steve Guest tweeted out footage of Biden doing the same thing at a campaign event, remarking, “You can’t make this up. Joe Biden just removed his mask to cough in his hand. Talk about unsanitary!”

The incident came approximately six months after CNN anchor Jake Tapper had to remind Biden that he was supposed to cough into his elbow rather than on his hand.

“You know, you’re supposed to cough into your elbow,” Tapper said, adding, “It’s kinda just old school to do it with your hand. Do it into your elbow. You’re supposed to do it.”
