Biden calls Trump supporters ‘ugly’ a week after calling them ‘chumps’

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden impatiently snapped at Trump supporters who were making noise near his outdoor event on Friday, referring to them as “ugly.”

Biden is well-known for making embarrassing gaffes while speaking, but he has also become infamous for a tendency to snap at those who annoy him.

Trump supporters “not very polite,” “ugly”

Biden was addressing a small group of his supporters at a drive-in rally in St. Paul, Minnesota, when he began to grow annoyed at an even larger crowd of Trump supporters in the vicinity who were repeatedly honking horns and making other noise, the Washington Examiner reported.

The former vice president initially referenced the counterprotesters as being “not very polite” and “like Trump,” but the pleasantries wouldn’t last long, according to the New York Post.

During an extended anti-Trump diatribe centered on the coronavirus pandemic and his call for a nationwide mask mandate, Biden said, “This isn’t a political statement like those ugly folks over there, beeping the horns. This is a patriotic duty, for God’s sake.” Watch:

There is no question that Biden called the protesters “ugly,” but there is some debate as whether he said ugly “folks,” “dolts,” or “dopes.” Regardless, his annoyance with their lawful exercising of their First Amendment-protected right of free speech and peaceable assembly came through loud and clear.

Trump supporters are “chumps”

Calling Trump supporters in Minnesota “ugly” was not the first time that Biden has insulted fans of the president while out campaigning. Less than a week earlier during a campaign event in Pennsylvania last Saturday, he twice referred to a similar group of boisterous pro-Trump counter-protesters as “chumps,” The Daily Wire reported.

Ironically, the insult was uttered in virtually the same breath as a call for “unity over division” among all Americans. “I’ll work as hard for those who don’t support me as those who do, including those chumps with the microphone out there,” Biden said. Watch:

Earlier, and apparently ignorant of the deliberately disruptive tactics commonly employed by left-leaning activists, Biden had said, “And by the way, we don’t do things like those chumps over there with the microphones are doing, the Trump guys.”

Biden is repeatedly undermining the fundamental claim of his entire run for the presidency — to supposedly bring calm, decency, and unity back to the White House. That message falls flat, though, once one starts referring to Americans as “ugly” and “chumps” simply because they support the opposing party.
