Biden bails on interview with Nevada reporter after only two questions

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden presumably wants to win the swing state of Nevada, but it doesn’t sound like he has much time to share his views with the public.

The candidate abruptly cut off a reporter from a local news station after she asked only two questions, as Breitbart reported.

“His campaign ended the Zoom interview”

Vanessa Murphy, the frustrated KLAS journalist, said that she had a “list of questions” to ask Biden, but she was cut off after just five minutes with the former vice president.

With a hint of exasperation, the journalist said that she only had time for two questions, “even with Nevada being a swing state.”

She went on note that “Biden apologized, but his campaign ended the Zoom interview.”

The questions from Murphy’s truncated interview — one about unemployment, and another about the coronavirus — received generic responses from the nominee. Biden has spent much of the campaign ranting about what a bad job President Donald Trump has done with the pandemic, but he has been reluctant to answer basic questions about where he stands on important issues, like expanding the number of justices seated on the U.S. Supreme Court.

After leaving the interview early, Murphy confirmed that newsroom staff “then emailed a couple of additional questions but have not received a response.” Of course, this was not the first time Biden has basically instructed reporters to take a hike, as Breitbart noted.

“He can’t answer the questions”

“Steve, that’s our time,” the former vice president told an Arizona reporter to abruptly conclude an interview in July.

The interviewer, Steve Irwin, responded with an awkward transition: “OK, all right. I appreciate your time. Uh, thanks so much to Mr. Vice President, as well.”

As new information and allegations emerged regarding his family’s business ties, Biden has been especially eager to avoid tough questions. Earlier this month, he snapped at a CBS News reporter who he accused of promoting a “smear campaign” against him.

For his part, President Donald Trump has continued to attack Biden for seeking refuge “in his basement” while avoiding questions from the press.

“I would say the primary reason he’s put the lid on again is because he can’t answer the questions,” the president said recently. “No, he can’t answer these questions.”
