President Joe Biden campaigned on a promise to bring respect back to the White House. Considering the way he was just treated at the G-7 conference, respect for the new president seems to be in short supply.
Video footage from a roundtable event with world leaders during the conference on Tuesday showed UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson having to correct his forgetful American counterpart.
The exchange began with Johnson concluding his introduction of the attendees only to have Biden jab out his finger and mistakenly tell the British leader that he had failed to introduce South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

World leaders laugh at Biden
“And the president of South Africa … as I said early on,” Johnson replied, sounding somewhat bemused. “Oh, you did?” a confused Biden asked, to which Johnson responded that he had “certainly” done so. The other attendees burst into laughter as Johnson shushed Biden with a wave of his hand, at which point the president awkwardly joined in on the laughter.
Many on Twitter bemoaned Biden’s behavior, with one person complaining, “The fawning media in the US wants you to think Joe Biden isn’t a dementia addled joke. You have to see the coverage from every other country to realize how badly he’s doing.”
Another said, “Biden looks lost. His mind is definitely lost. You know the world leaders have witnessed his dementia, but won’t say anything because they knows Biden is going to drop billions into their feel good social justice ‘clubs’ like the Paris Accord and the WHO.”
In another worrying sign of Biden’s cognitive state, he was seen wandering through an outdoor patio and struggling to answer a reporter’s question before First Lady Jill Biden took him by the hand and led him away.

Signs of decline
Biden’s mental state has long been a subject of controversy, with critics pointing to multiple instances during last year’s presidential campaign in which he made bizarre or nonsensical statements.
Examples include forgetting which state he was in, confusing his wife with his sister, and telling voters that he was seeking a seat in the United States Senate. During one speech, Biden recalled getting arrested while attempting to visit Nelson Mandela in apartheid South Africa, something even the liberal fact checking website Snopes concluded did not actually happen.
Former President Trump regularly made an issue of Biden’s cognitive state, giving him the moniker “Sleepy Joe.”
