Biden laughs as comedian mentions inflation, gas prices during WHCA dinner

President Joe Biden spent Saturday evening at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner where he appeared to be in good spirits, according to the Daily Caller

Biden laughed uproariously at the celebrities and comedians in attendance, including at their jokes about the flailing economy, which many experts have blamed on the current president.

Trevor Noah, host of The Daily Show offered an almost half-hour address that Biden and others in the room seemed to have found hilarious.

The comedian covered issues related to rising inflation, gas prices, supply chain problems, and other hot-button topics that have the American middle class struggling as the Biden Administration continues to target them.

“Ever since you’ve come into office, things are really looking up,” Noah joked. “Gas is up, rent is up, food is up!” Noah said.

The comedian also took a few other opportunities to poke fun at the current president, talking about the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal and concerns about the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

“This is the golden area of conspiracy theories, whether it’s the right-wing believing Trump can still win the 2020 election, or the left believing Joe Biden can still win the 2024 election.”

“Thank you so much for having me. I appreciate you,” Noah said as he finished his speech. “Please be careful leaving tonight. We all know this administration doesn’t handle evacuations well.”

While COVID-19-related lockdowns pulled the economy into a downturn at the tail end of former President Donald Trump’s term in office, the continued downward economic spiral has only picked up speed with Biden in the White House.

According to the Daily Caller’s assessment of recent price and value impacts, “Inflation soared 8.5% over the last 12 months, the fastest pace since December 1981.”

“The Consumer Price Index increased 1.2% between February and March, the fastest month-over-month figure since 2005, according to the Labor Department. The Biden Administration has blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for inflation while also calling it ‘transitory.'”
