Joe Biden’s niece Caroline pleads guilty to DUI in Pennsylvania: Report

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s niece pleaded guilty to a DUI in Pennsylvania earlier this month, the New York Post reported.

Caroline Biden, 33, was taken into custody in August 2019 after slamming into a tree in Montgomery County.

Drugs found in her system

According to the Post, Caroline Biden did not have a driver’s license and authorities said she “had difficulty focusing on the conversation” when she was questioned about the incident.

Bottles for two prescription medications were also found inside the vehicle. A subsequent blood test later confirmed that the controlled substances carisoprodol and lorazepam were in Caroline Biden’s system at the time of the crash.

Although she was not arranged until one day after this year’s presidential election, the Post reported that a court spokesperson insisted the date was an autogenerated coincidence and not a politically calculated move.

Following her guilty plea, Caroline Biden received a sentence 2of 0 days to six months of confinement; however, the time that she spent in rehab last January will be counted in lieu of jail time.

Caroline Biden is also expected to come up with $1,990 to cover fines and legal costs as well as “participate in a public or nonprofit community service program for 12 hours,” the Post reports. Additional consequences will include completion of a substance abuse awareness program along with a one-year suspension of her license.

The Biden crime family

The Post noted that this is not Caroline Biden’s first run-in with the law, nor is it the first time that a member of the Biden family has escaped going to jail. “A Post investigation in July found at least eight other busts of Bidens resulted in wrist slaps,” the outlet reported.

“In 2017, [Caroline Biden] was busted for spending more than $110,000 on a stolen credit card. A felony conviction was later tossed, and she was allowed to re-plead to the lesser charge of petty larceny as part of a sweetheart deal negotiated by her attorneys. She avoided jail time,” the Post said.

Meanwhile, Hunter Biden announced in a statement on the Biden–Harris transition team’s website earlier this month that he was under federal investigation relating to his “tax affairs.”

“I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs,” the former VP’s son said on Dec. 9.

Hunter Biden claimed to be taking “this matter very seriously,” but stressed that he had behaved “legally and appropriately.” Only time will tell.
