Biden and Harris seize the moment after Chauvin verdict to push systemic racism narrative

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris seized the moment Tuesday to press for policing reform after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of murdering George Floyd.

Not skipping a beat, the pair expressed solidarity with protesters who took to the streets to press their grievances, saying there’s still “work” to be done.

Biden, Harris press for police reform

The message was universal Tuesday evening: Biden called Chauvin’s conviction a “giant step forward” but lamented it was “not enough,” while Harris called the verdict merely a “measure of justice.”

“We still must reform the system,” she said.

In his own remarks, Biden seemed to contradict himself as he said most police serve “honorably,” despite upholding an oppressive system plagued by “systemic racism” in which it’s “much too rare” for police to face consequences for brutality.

“It was a murder in the full light of day, and it ripped the blinders off for the whole world to see the systemic racism the vice president just referred to, the systemic racism that is a stain on our nation’s soul,” Biden said.

Biden called on Congress to pass policing reform and confirm two nominees to lead the DOJ: Vanita Gupta and Kristen Clarke.

The unrest continues

The verdict brought a dramatic conclusion to nearly a year of violent tensions that began with Floyd’s tragic death in May, which set off some of the worst riots America has seen in decades. Bracing for the verdict, business owners all across the country boarded up their windows in fear.

Biden gave a rosy view of last summer’s riots, which killed several people and resulted in $1 billion in property damage, saying it “unified people of every race and generation in peace and with purpose.”

While many Americans applauded the verdict, some were left questioning the fairness of the trial, pointing to jury intimidation from politicians such as Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) and the looming threat of mob reprisal.

As a tense nation waited for the verdict Tuesday afternoon, Biden raised eyebrows with the highly unusual step of saying he was “praying” for a conviction.

Strangely, Biden denied that he was “weighing in” by giving his personal opinion on the combustible case.

  1. Is it possible that if George Floyd had been white and acted like Mr. Floyd did, would the end result have been a dead white man? I find it hard to believe that police are only out to attack black people. Am I wrong?

  3. Biden the brain dead and camel are both losers who can’t keep facts straight even with a straight edge.

    1. totally agree —for the better interest of this country they should keep thier wrong opinions to themselves — tho it was a terrible thing that happened to Mr Floyd –we as a country should all want some change but in reality it wont happen under this Administration — they both are only thinking on themselves – – –

  4. I think Biden, Harris, BLM, ANTIFA and most Democrats are born of the same cloth as Mad Maxine Waters.

  5. Biden and Harris need to get rid of their security, then we will talk about the gun thing. The people that have guns are mostly saving them in case they are needed, since we have no security.

  6. Amazing how all the idiots out there run to the defense of felons and drug addicts that have altercations with police and it does not end well!

  7. I think that there may be an easy way to kill 2 birds with 1 stone that would provide a starting point for the left to accomplish the agendas they are so sorely pushing for…..First , we get all the addresses of where these useless malcontents live , then we remove their bodyguards and make it illegal for them to bear arms……then we have the police defunded in their hometowns, and lastly we move all illegal immigrants next door to them….Let this go on for at least 6 mtonths, and have them repolled to see if their opinions change. We all win regardless of the outcome. If they claim that these conditions are ok, then we have found a permanent solution. And if they are opposed to it, then maybe they will have to start working more for the real majority of Americans that are already facing this dilemma that they have propagated . But I think we all know what response we would get from these cowards…

  8. I remember a 6 yr old white kid being murdered by his black neighbor because he rode his bike on the corner of his black neighbor’s yard. The black neighbor ate supper in the little white boy’s home the night before. But that didn’t draw black people to get upset. As in the days of Noah we are in the end time frame Jesus gave the people when they asked when He would return.

    1. That was sickening! He walked up & blew that little boy off of his bicycle! That barely did make the news! Nobody gave a damn about that! If that was a white guy blowing a black off his bike, half the damn country would have burned down. He would have got the death penalty!

  9. Jesus’s time frame is a parable He gave the people Matthew 24:32-37 the fig tree is Israel. They bloomed on May 14-15, 1948. Moses was given our yrs in a generation in Psalm 90:10. Total of 80 yrs. we are the generation that that seen the fig tree bloom. We are in the 80 urs of the parable. Anytime between now and May 15, 2021 this May . No man knows the exact time of of hour or day or night except for GOD JEHOVAH ALMIGHTY. But Jesus’s teaching how to pray in Matthew tells us when we pray to ask these things we pray for in Jesus’s name for He and his Father are one. AMEN AND SEMPER FIDELIS

  10. We don’ need police reform, we need black people reform. They need to learn not to run when stopped by police. If they didn’t do any thing wrong, they will be cleared to be on their way!!!
