Biden reaches another all-time low in new poll

President Joe Biden continues to receive some embarrassingly low polling numbers.

This time, the New York Post reports that Biden has scored “the lowest rating of any modern president.”

Biden managed to do so in the latest Gallup poll. The pollster surveyed some 1,013 Americans during the period from July 5 through July 26, and the results were just released.

The findings

Gallups found that only 38% of those surveyed indicated that they approve of the job that Biden is doing as president. On the flip side, a whopping 59% indicated that they disapprove of Biden’s job performance.

This is a new low or new high for Biden – however you want to look at it. But, this actually isn’t the worst of it for Biden.

A historical low

What Gallup did was average Biden’s approval rating during his first six quarters in office, and the figure that Gallup came up with is 40%. That is, Biden has an average approval rating of only 40% over his first six quarters in office.

Just how bad is this? According to Gallup, it is the worst.

Biden, here, is worse off than former Presidents Donald Trump and Jimmy Carter, who both scored 42% at this point in their respective presidencies. And, the thing is that Trump and Carter used to be the historical low – now Biden is.

There’s no getting away from it

By this point, it is clear that Gallup’s findings are in no way an anomaly. Biden has been doing poorly in the polls for some time now.

Real Clear Politics currently has Biden with an average approval rating of only 38.6% and an average disapproval rating of 56.2%. This means that, overall, Biden is underwater by 17.6 percentage points, which is staggering.

There are two big questions that result from Biden’s abysmal performance in the polls. One is how Biden’s poor polling is going to affect the midterm elections. Another is how the Democratic Party is going to respond to this.

The answer to the first question remains unknown. But, it is becoming clear that the Democratic Party is looking to move away from Biden in the next presidential election. Talk, in fact, is already shifting to Biden’s replacement, who, at this point, is anybody’s guess.
