Biden say’s he is not going to ask for Saudi oil

On Thursday, President Joe Biden declined to request that Saudi Arabia increase oil production in order to lower the price of gasoline in the US and throughout the world, according to a report by Breitbart News

During his press appearance in Europe, Biden was particularly asked what he would say to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman or King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud regarding oil during their upcoming meeting in July.

“No, I’m not going to ask them,” he said, pointing out that he already “indicated”  in some way to all the Gulf heads of state that the United States had the desire for them to produce more oil.

“I hope we see them, in their own interest, concluding that makes sense to do,” Biden said.

The president argued that his trip to Saudi Arabia was about Middle East peace negotiations with Israel, not about the production of oil.

“I’m sure — it’s in Saudi Arabia, but it’s not about Saudi Arabia,” he said. “It’s in Saudi Arabia.”

Biden comes forward

Biden claimed he was unsure whether he would speak to the Saudi rulers.

“I’m not even sure; I guess I will see the King and the Crown Prince, but that’s — that’s not the meeting I’m going to,” he said. “They’ll be part of a much larger meeting.”

Despite Saudi Arabia’s power on the world’s oil markets, Biden routinely goes out of his way to attack them. Biden promised to treat Saudi Arabia like a “pariah” during his presidential campaign, but he ultimately consented to a meeting with their officials in July and even though gas costs in the US were already growing quickly before the start of the war, Biden blamed the high gas prices around the world on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“The bottom line is: Ultimately, the reason why gas prices are up is because of Russia,” Biden said. “Russia, Russia, Russia.”

By pursuing anti-fossil fuel measures, Biden and his administration are further putting the nation at the mercy of oil-rich foreign autocrats.

Biden responded when asked how long motorists will be required to pay for gas: “As long as it takes. So Russia cannot, in fact, defeat Ukraine and move beyond Ukraine.”
