Biden panics in search of his mask during outdoor rally, eventually finds it in his pocket

President Joe Biden traveled to Georgia on Thursday for an outdoor, drive-in rally with his supporters — and he had a rather embarrassing moment while there.

Near the end of his talk, the president, who has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for several months, launched into what appeared to be a panicked state, declaring he was “in trouble” as he frantically searched for his face mask, which was located in his pants pocket the entire time, the New York Post reported.

“I can’t find my mask!”

Video captured at the event revealed how Biden concluded his prepared remarks to the crowd of vehicle-bound supporters, and as Jackie Wilson’s “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” blared through the speakers, the president invited First Lady Jill Biden and Georgia Sens. Jon Ossoff (D) and Raphael Warnock (D) to join him on stage, after at least twice coughing directly into his hand instead of his arm or elbow.

As the first lady and pair of senators — all of whom were wearing face masks despite being vaccinated and outdoors — approached Biden, he began to search for his mask, at one point shouting, “I can’t find my mask,” as he scoured the podium, his binder of prepared remarks, and even the floor where he was standing.

“I’m in trouble”

The first lady then joined him in what appeared to be a frantic search, even flipping through the pages of the binder herself with the hopes of finding the missing mask.

“I’m looking for my mask. I’m in trouble,” Biden said into the microphone, according to Fox News, as his wife continued her own search through the binder while the Georgia senators began to glance around the area for any sign of it.

A staffer eventually ran up on stage and handed a disposable mask to the first lady to give to her panicked husband, but it was at that very moment when he finally found the cloth mask that had been tucked in his pocket all along. He briefly and triumphantly held it up for the crowd to see before using it to cover his face.

When virtue-signaling goes wrong

Once President Biden’s face mask was securely in place, he proceeded to bump elbows with Sen. Ossoff, no doubt in compliance with U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines to avoid handshakes and other physical contact.

However, the Washington Examiner pointed out that all four of them proceeded to grab each others’ hands while raising their arms in unison — not quite following the guidelines they seemed adamant about just moments before.

In fact, the entire incident with the mask seemed to be nothing more than theater, as neither Biden, nor the first lady, nor the two senators — or really anybody else around the stage and out in the crowd, for that matter — needed to be wearing a mask, given that the event was taking place outside. That’s not to mention the fact that there was an obvious breeze blowing through and that the principal participants were all fully vaccinated, making any risk of contracting COVID-19 extraordinarily minuscule.

This was nothing but expert-level virtue-signaling, something Biden does quite a bit with regard to masks and other COVID-19 mitigation protocols. When will we finally get the truth?
