Report: Biden stumbles over his words during Pittsburgh speech

Joe Biden broke down during a Monday speech in Pittsburgh in what Breitbart described as a “brain freeze.”

Video shows the Democrat presidential hopeful stumbling over his words while discussing the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. According to Breitbart, Biden appeared to be struggling to read a teleprompter.

“COVID has taken this year — just since the outbreak — has taken more than 100 year — look, here’s — the lives, it’s just, it’s just, I mean think about it — more lives this year than any other year,” he said, according to Breitbart.

“The other Biden”

As Breitbart reported, Turning Point USA chief creative officer Benny Johnson tweeted out a video clip of Biden’s remarks, wondering aloud what exactly the former vice president was trying to say.

Biden, for his part, has a long history of making bizarre statements and verbal gaffes. Earlier this year, he told voters that he was running for a seat in the United States Senate, according to Newsweek, and said that his detractors should “vote for the other Biden,” as The Federalist reported.

Many observers have suggested that he is avoiding the in-person campaign trail to cover up his apparent cognitive decline.

Biden talks COVID

According to Breitbart, a copy of Biden’s prepared remarks indicated that he intended to say: “COVID has taken more lives this year than any outbreak in more than 100 years.

“More than 180,000 lives in just six months,” the former vice president was supposed to add, Breitbart reported. “An average of 1,000 people dying every day in the month of August.”

Biden went on to allege that Americans are “afraid they’re going to get sick and die. And that is in no small part, it’s because of you,” he said of the president.

“We’re now on track to more than 200,000 deaths in this country due to COVID,” Biden continued. “More than 100,000 seniors have lost their lives because of the virus. More cops have died from COVID this year than have been killed on patrol. Nearly one in six small businesses closed in this country today.”

Of course, Biden did not specify that a disproportionate number of coronavirus deaths were among nursing home residents living in Democrat-run states, as Fox News reported earlier this summer.
