Biden’s border chief admits ending Title 42 will exacerbate illegal immigration

President Biden is set to end one of the few border control policies he continued from the Trump administration, Title 42, setting the stage for an unprecedented tsunami of illegal immigration.

Biden’s own border patrol chief, Chris Magnus, admitted that rescinding the critical policy will exacerbate the border crisis, Breitbart reported.

Biden border chief makes damaging admission

Biden signaled his backward priorities when he paradoxically chose Magnus, an open borders activist, to serve as the chief of border patrol.

Thanks to Biden’s reckless policies, illegal immigration has reached record levels. Already, 1 million migrants have attempted to enter the United States just six months into the fiscal year — and that was with Title 42 in place. Things are bound to get a lot worse in the coming months.

For two years, Title 42 allowed migrants to be rapidly deported without the chance to claim asylum. With the policy now ending, already “high levels” of immigration will “increase” as a “significant” number of migrants who were denied asylum under Title 42 begin to rush the border, Magnus said.

“There are a significant number of individuals who were unable to access the asylum system for the past two years, and who may decide that now is the time to come.”

“We are doing everything we can to prepare for this increase, ensure we continue to process people humanely, and impose consequences on those who break the law,” he continued.

“Frightening”

While Title 42 isn’t set to end until May, Biden’s move seems to have already prompted a flood of immigration as new caravans begin forming in Latin America.

Biden officials estimate that as many as 18,000 migrants could start storming the border every day once Title 42 is lifted.

That adds up to half a million migrants — a population large enough to replace Atlanta, Georgia — each month, Breitbart noted.

The border state of Arizona is suing Biden over his move and is joined by Louisiana and Missouri. While states like Arizona are at the forefront of the crisis, Republicans argue that on Biden’s watch, “every state is a border state” as the administration works to smuggle migrants into the nation’s interior.

Biden’s Title 42 decision has also met some pushback from an increasingly rare breed of centrist Democrat, with Joe Manchin (D-WV) calling the change “frightening.”
