The Biden family just experienced a breakup.
According to Fox News, Cuffe Biden Owens — President Joe Biden’s nephew — and Meghan King, the former Real Housewives of Orange County star, have just decided to end their marriage.
In keeping with traditional Hollywood elite standards, the decision to split was made after having only been married for two months.
Owens is the son of Valerie Biden Owens, the president’s younger sister who also serves as one of the president’s political advisers.
How they met
According to King, she and Owens “connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke.”
“By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours,” Owens said, according to Fox. “Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family and starting to plan our future together. We didn’t leave each other’s side for weeks.”
The rapid pace continued as the couple confirmed their relationship on Instagram in September of this year. It wasn’t long after that that the couple, in October, tied the knot at what the White House described as a “small, family wedding at the home of Valerie and Jack Owens.”
King said of his fast-paced relationship, “We just knew.”
As quickly as the relationship began, it has now ended. A source told Page Six that King “has told friends they broke up.”
The news hasn’t really come as that much of a surprise to many, including former Major League Baseball star Jim Edmonds, King’s former husband with whom she has three kids. Edmonds and King divorced in October 2019 after Edmonds was accused of having an affair with their children’s nanny, an accusation he denied.
Edmonds told the Daily Mail that he “thought it was a joke” when King and Owens got married. “They’d been dating for about four weeks,” he said. He also revealed that he wondered whether the rapid marriage was due to a possible pregnancy.
Whatever the case may be, it appears that Owens and King will now be going their separate ways. We’ll have to see if the White House comments on the situation. So far, it has not.
