Newly released court documents undermine Bill Clinton’s claim that he never visited Epstein’s private island

Former President Bill Clinton may claim that he was never on Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, but new evidence tying Clinton to the infamous sex offender severely undermines that narrative.

According to the Washington Examiner, new court documents have been unsealed relating to alleged sex crimes committed by Epstein and his now-incarcerated associate, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell — and they include some damning allegations against the 42nd president.

“What’s Bill Clinton doing here?”

The allegations can be found in excerpts from a deposition given by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who says she was trafficked as a minor to Epstein’s private Caribbean island known as Little St. James. Guiffre says that Clinton was present on the island, which she described as the scene of regular “sexual orgies” featuring herself and other young girls, the Examiner reported.

“I remember asking Jeffrey what’s Bill Clinton doing here kind of thing, and he laughed it off and said well he owes me a favor,” Giuffre said in interviews with her lawyers, according to the Examiner.

“He never told me what favors they were,” Giuffre recalled. “I never knew. I didn’t know if he was serious.”

As the Examiner noted, Clinton spokesperson Angel Ureña has denied any wrongdoing on the part of the former president, telling Newsweek on Friday that the former president “has never been to Little St. James Island” and that he has “not spoken to Epstein in well over a decade.”

But Epstein was already a convicted sex offender in 2007 as the result of a lenient plea agreement with federal prosecutors that is itself now under investigation. It begs the question: why didn’t Clinton cut ties then?

“Everyone owes him favors”

Ureña issued a similar denial in July of last year after Epstein was again taken into federal custody. “President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York,” Ureña said in a statement posted to his Twitter feed.

Ureña also claimed that Clinton only took a total of four trips on Epstein’s private plane, a Boeing 727 that was nicknamed the “Lolita Express.”

However, Fox News reported in 2016 that Federal Aviation Administration records showed Clinton took at least 11 flights aboard the aircraft — and perhaps many more than that. What’s more, the former president appears to have left his Secret Service security detail behind for at least five of those trips.

Perhaps he was just doing a favor for Epstein then, too.

“[Epstein] told me a long time ago that everyone owes him favors,” Guiffre said in her deposition, according to the Examiner. “They’re all in each other’s pockets.”
