Bodycam footage from Paul Pelosi’s DUI arrest being held from public by DA

In late May, Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), made headlines after it was reported that he had been arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) in the state of California.

According to Fox News, plenty of mystery remains with regard to Mr. Pelosi’s arrest, as a records request pertaining to bodycam footage of his arrest filed by Fox News through the California Public Records Act (CPRA) has reportedly been denied, with officials citing the reason for the denial as due to an “ongoing investigation.”

“The Public Records Unit (PRU) has determined the Department possesses records responsive to your request,” the California Highway Patrol (CHP) told Fox News Digital.

“However, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office has advised the release of records would jeopardize an ongoing investigation. As such, records are being withheld pursuant to Government Code section 6254 (f).”

Was it buried?

It seems as if being married to the House speaker, being a Democrat, and being from California, all have amazing perks when getting caught breaking the law. Fox News’ Jesse Watters recently dug into the story, concluding that the situation has essentially been “buried” from the public.

“The case pretty much has been buried from the public. There’s been no release of Poppa Paulie’s mug shot. Every attempt has been stonewalled by California officials,” Watters said during a recent show.

He added: “Believe us, ‘Primetime’ has been doing everything by the books to get it out. We basically called every office in Napa County like they told us to. And we’ve just gotten nothing but the runaround from them.”

“Standard protocol”

The Napa County DA’s office insisted that the way it’s handling the high-profile case is totally normal, even though it’s not.

“This is standard protocol in any DUI case that is referred by a law enforcement agency in Napa County,” the agency stated with regard to being questioned about possible criminal charges for Mr. Pelosi. “No decision has been made at this time. Any speculation to the contrary is incorrect.”

Only time will tell if Mr. Pelosi’s California, elitist Democrat privilege allows him to escape being charged as any normal California driver would have already been in a similar situation.
