Police bodycam footage shows federal contractors ferrying migrants across the country: Report

There’s little question that President Joe Biden and those in his administration have refused to enforce border security measures meant to keep Americans and their families safe. Now, however, it looks like the problem is worse than once thought.

Recently released police bodycam footage out of New York suggests the Biden administration is facilitating the violation of immigration laws by secretly flying migrants from the U.S.–Mexico border to communities all across the country, Breitbart reported Thursday.

The footage comes from the bodycam of a Westchester County police officer and was obtained via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by Rob Astoria, a former county executive running as a GOP candidate to be New York’s next governor. Astoria shared what he learned during an appearance this week on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight.

“Betraying the American people”

According to the New York Post, the nearly hour-long footage, which is from August of last year, documents the actions of Officer Michael Hamborsky as he investigated unusual after-hours activity at the small Westchester airport, which was supposed to be closed overnight.

At the airport, Hamborsky found a Boeing 737 private charter jet manned by about a dozen private contractors. Reports indicate that some 142 newly arrived migrants were disembarking the plane and eventually boarded charter buses that set out for destinations in several surrounding states.

The contractors for the plane and buses, who asserted that the operation was run by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Army, reportedly made it clear to the officer that they were under orders to keep everything “hush-hush” and on the “down low,” with some saying they’d been instructed to never show their work IDs and others saying they weren’t even informed until the last moment of where their destination would be.

“You don’t want to be in somewhere the spotlight is,” one contractor said, explaining why the small airport was used, according to the Post. “You want to try and be as down-low as possible. A lot of this is just down-low stuff that we don’t tell people because what we don’t want to do is attract attention. We don’t want the media. Like we don’t even know where we’re going when they tell us.”

Other contractors reportedly griped to the officer about the “secrecy” of the whole affair, with one saying “look who’s in office” for the reason why the operation was being kept under wraps. “You know why,” the contractor added, according to the Post. “Because if this gets out, the government is betraying the American people.”

Not just New York

According to the Washington Examiner, the bodycam footage bolsters reports from 2021 about the secretive flights that had reportedly begun transporting migrants from the southern border to small communities around the country.

In October, the New York Post revealed secret late-night charter flights from Texas to Pennsylvania, while the Examiner reported in November on at least 70 flights that arrived at the small airport in Jacksonville, Florida.

Current statutory law says that illicit border crossers should be immediately turned back into Mexico, deported to their home country, or detained for processing. Instead, it looks like the Biden administration is providing a helping hand to migrants and perhaps even drug cartels and human traffickers — all at taxpayers’ expense.
