‘Squad’ wants Boebert off House committees over controversial remarks about Ilhan Omar

The increasingly extreme Democratic Party has developed a habit of swiftly purging their political opponents.

In just the latest example, the far-left “Squad” is clamoring for Republican Lauren Boebert (CO) to lose her committee assignments in the House over disparaging remarks she made about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

“Squad” clamors for punishment

Omar’s ally in the House, fellow “Squad” member, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), is among those calling for Boebert to be penalized.

“It’s embarrassing that there is any hesitation on this,” she tweeted, according to The Hill. “How can we have different consequences for different kinds of bigotry or incitement? This should be treated equally and consistently. Incite against a member and you’re stripped. End of story. She refuses to even apologize.”

Despite Ocasio-Cortez’s appeal to fairness, Democrats have never chastened Maxine Waters (D-CA) for inciting mob violence — or Omar, whose extreme rhetoric has been described as anti-Semitic.

She has also been accused of downplaying the Sept. 11 terror attacks, and before her rise to the House, she asked a judge to be lenient with ISIS recruits, according to reports.

Democrats are outraged after Boebert compared Omar to a terrorist. “She doesn’t have a backpack, she wasn’t dropping it and running, so we’re good,” Boebert had said, as The Hill reports.

Omar wants swift action

For her part, Omar told CNN’s State of the Union that House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy (CA) is a “coward” for refusing to penalize Boebert, Politico reported, even though she apologized “to anyone in the Muslim community” who she “offended” and called Omar on the phone, as The Hill notes.

Omar also said that she spoke with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and that Pelosi plans to take swift action against Boebert.

“I think it’s important for us to say, this kind of language, this kind of hate cannot be condoned by the House of Representatives,” Omar said, according to The Hill.

This comes after House Democrats censured conservative hardliner Paul Gosar (R-AZ) and stripped him from his committees over a cartoon video that depicted him killing Ocasio-Cortez. Democrats also stripped MAGA firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of her committee assignments earlier this year.

When’s the last time Democrats censured one of their own? There’s a lesson here: To the ruthless left, apologies are a sign of weakness.
