National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd called President Joe Biden the drug “cartels’ best friend” in a new op-ed because of his open border policies, which have resulted in more drugs coming across the border along with illegal immigrants.
Judd started by declaring that former President Donald Trump’s border policies “worked,” including Title 42, the Remain in Mexico policy, and partnerships with Mexico and Guatemala.
Even more than that, Trump exuded a generally negative attitude toward illegal immigration that discouraged many from trying to cross the border illegally.
“All his great work is now undone,” Judd wrote.
“From the moment President Joe Biden took office, we saw an immediate spike in illegal border traffic and serious criminal activity,” Judd continued. “In fact, and instead of doing right by the American people, President Biden has become the cartels’ best friend. They are making billions from his bad policies.”
“They actually advertise his policies to exploit their victims and take their money,” Judd said of the cartels. “They ruthlessly dump their victims at our border, coach them on what they need to say to be released into the U.S. and leave agents to clean up the mess.”
Judd said he thinks things are going to get much worse under Biden, starting with the removal of Title 42.
“All of this is easily be prevented, but only if the Biden administration wants it to stop,” Judd argued. “But when you consider the following, I think you will agree that it doesn’t want this crisis that it caused to end.”
Judd argued that four actions taken by Biden show that he is flooding the border with illegal immigrants on purpose: his appointed border “czar” Vice President Kamala Harris has done nothing to address the border situation, he reimplemented catch and release to get migrants into the country, he is vilifying law enforcement including Border Patrol agents, and he rescinded Title 42 even though border officials said it would double the number of people trying to cross the border.
“The evidence is clear to us. He wants this. It’s by design,” Judd concluded.
Biden and his administration are now saying there will be a “whole of government” solution to the problem, but Judd isn’t buying it.
“Believe that if you want to, but if you do, don’t bet your money that it’s a solution to anything other than appeasement and buying time,” he said.
