The Border Patrol agents who were baselessly maligned by the Biden regime and the mainstream media for “whipping” Haitian migrants last year have been cleared by an internal investigation, six months after the fact.
A source told Breitbart that an official report on the bogus controversy is expected soon.
Border agents in bogus “whipping” controversy exonerated
The agents were responding to a surge of some 15,000 Haitian migrants who camped out in Del Rio, Texas in September. The left claimed that widely publicized images showed the agents, who were on horseback, “whipping” migrants.
President Biden’s open borders-supporting chief of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, promised a swift investigation that would take “days, not weeks.”
The agents have finally been exonerated about six months later, a source at U.S. Customs and Border Protection said. Border Patrol is aware of the finding, but the official report is not out yet.
The agents have been off duty since September and won’t return until the report is released, the source said.
While the agents have been cleared, they have yet to receive any apologies from those in the Biden administration who threw them under the bus for doing their jobs.
Political hit job
“It was horrible what you saw, to see people treated like they did, horses run them over, people being strapped, it’s outrageous.” Biden said. “I promise you, those people will pay.”
Despite Biden’s rhetoric, the Inspector General’s office at the DHS found no cause for an investigation and passed the matter on to CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) in November. Republican senators including Texas’s Ted Cruz (R) called on DHS last week to release the report.
The CBP source told Breitbart that the probe has likely been drawn out to help the Biden regime save face, echoing concerns previously shared by an insider at DHS that the report may never see the light of day because it makes the regime “look terrible.”
It looks like the Biden regime wants to quietly release this report and hope that no one remembers or cares about Biden’s fake “whipping” controversy. But the scandal could be the least of Biden’s concerns as DHS braces for an entirely self-inflicted surge of up to 18,000 migrants a day in the coming weeks.
