Conservatives have long argued that President Joe Biden is mentally unfit to hold office. Now, even some in his own party are beginning to say the same.
One of them is former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, who recently compared Biden’s presidency to “elder abuse.”
“Unfortunately, my party, the Democratic Party, just conveys weakness right now,” Curran said during an interview on Sunday with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade.
Democrat says that “everyone gets nervous” whenever the president speaks
“It almost feels like elder abuse with what’s going on with President Biden,” the former New York state local official continued.
“He has a hard time putting a sentence together,” Curran pointed out, adding, “I think everyone gets nervous listening to him talk, he’s going to mess up.”
Indeed, Biden was frequently seen struggling to speak in coherent manner even before he took the oath of office this past January.
At various points during last year’s presidential campaign, Biden seemed to forget what state he was in, mixed up his wife with his sister, and told voters in South Carolina that he was running for a seat in the United States Senate.
In one particularly odd example, then candidate Biden recalled at a campaign stop how he was locked up over four decades ago in apartheid South Africa for attempting to visit the imprisoned Nelson Mandela.
However, even the left-leaning fact check website Snopes was later forced to conclude that such an incident never actually took place.
Predictions of “a bloodbath” for Democrats this November
In speaking with Kilmeade over the weekend, Curran went on to suggest that what the Democratic Party needs “especially now, is someone who exudes confidence and competence. Someone who sets a reassuring tone.”
“And we’re not getting that at the top right now,” Curran complained before predicting that the lack of strong leadership will be disastrous for her party when Americans head to cast their ballots.
“I think your previous guest, Karl Rove, is absolutely right,” the former public official admitted, adding, “I think it’s going to be a bloodbath for the Democrats in the midterms.”
