BREAKING: He’s FLEEING – “Freedom Convoy” TERRIFIES White House

Over the past two years, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been a vocal supporter of COVID-related restrictions.

However, the national leader apparently decided to flee this past weekend as thousands of anti-restriction protestors descended on Canada’s capital city.

Prime minister says protesters have “unacceptable” views

That’s according to The Week, which cited a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation report as saying that the prime minister retreated to an undisclosed location due to concerns over security.

A massive collections of truck drivers known as the “Freedom Convoy” have converged on Ottawa, and among other things they are demanding that Trudeau reverse a requirement that all truckers who cross the border present proof of vaccination.

Canada’s National Post reported earlier this month that the new vaccine requirement has aggravated already existing supply chain problems.

According to Fox News, Trudeau announced on Monday that he has tested positive for COVID despite being both fully vaccinated and boosted. The prime minister has made clear he will not be meeting with the protesters, calling them “a fringe minority” whose views are “unacceptable.”

However, Fox News host Tucker Carlson spoke with Freedom Convoy co-organizer Benjamin Dichter last week, who said that the participants are set on making their voices heard.

“We’ve seen Canada go from a country of Justin Trudeau’s promises of sunny ways into dark authoritarian oppression and control,” said Dichter. “We want two things: To get rid of the vaccine mandates and the passports.”

“So now these people who have had their industries crushed, their lives crushed, COVID comes along and now they’re treated like insects by the bureaucracy,” he said.

Poll shows most Canadians want an end to restrictions

Meanwhile, a new survey conducted by Canadian polling firm Angus Reid Institute between January 27 and January 28 suggests that most people in the country have grown weary of Trudeau’s COVID restrictions.

“The public sentiment appears to be moving in the direction of opening up communities,” the Angus Reid Institute said on Sunday.

“Indeed, in the past two weeks the number of Canadians saying they would like to see restrictions ended has risen by 15 percentage points, to a majority (54%).”
