Brian Laundrie’s notebook confession reveals disturbing details in murder of Gabby Petito

It appears that the murder of Gabby Petito has now been solved.

Fox News reports that Brian Laundrie, before taking his own life, confessed to killing Petito.

The confession was discovered in the notebook that the FBI recovered from the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in Florida. The discovery was made on Oct. 20, 2021, while authorities were searching for Laundrie, who was the prime suspect in Petito’s disappearance and death.

We have known for some time that the FBI, during the search, found a bag with a notebook in it. But, the FBI kept the contents of that notebook secret until just recently. It now appears that the contents contained exactly what many had hoped for – Laundrie’s murder confession.

“I ended her life”

Fox has posted pictures of the confession that Laundrie left in the notebook. Despite the flooding that occurred in the area where the notebook was found, the writing is clearly legible as the notebook appears to have been kept somewhat dry inside of the bag in which it was found.

Laundrie claims in the confession that Petito’s death was a mercy killing — that Petito injured herself in Wyoming, and that he “took away her pain” by killing her.

“I ended her life,” he wrote. “I thought it was merciful, that it is what she wanted, but I see now all the mistakes I made. I panicked. I was in shock.”

Laundrie also explains in the notebook how he died, writing:

I am ending my life not because of a fear of punishment but rather because I cant stand to live another day without her. I’ve lost out whole future together, every moment we could have cherished . . . I have killed myself by this creek in the hopes that animals may tear me apart, that it may make some of her family happy.

“Gabby I’m sorry”

Towards the end of the confession, Laundrie apologizes and calls upon people to leave his family alone.

“I’m sorry for everyone’s loss,” he writes. “Please do not make life harder for my family. They lost a son and a daughter, the most wonderful girl in the world.”

“Gabby, I’m sorry,” Laundrie adds.

Laundrie ends the confession, writing, “please pick up all of my things. Gabby hated people who litter.”
