Mo Brooks refuses to answer questions from CNN’s Acosta, says he’s untrustworthy

CNN reporter Jim Acosta made a name for himself over the past five years by incessantly attacking and antagonizing former President Donald Trump, often asking loaded questions with biased premises and then dishonestly spinning, as negatively as possible, any response received.

Acosta’s reputation has become well-known among many of Trump’s supporters, including Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), who refused to answer questions from the reporter due to the fact that the congressman couldn’t trust him or CNN to be “honorable or truthful” with his response, the Washington Examiner reported.

In fact, as Brooks rode away from Acosta on his bicycle, Brooks accused him and his network of being willing to “lie through your teeth any chance you get.”

“I don’t trust y’all to be truthful or honest”

The Hill reported that Acosta approached Brooks outside of the U.S. Capitol building as the congressman unchained his bicycle and then began to ask a series of questions about the Jan. 6 riot, of which some Democrats and media figures have accused Brooks of helping to instigate.

As Acosta asked his first question, though, Brooks responded with what sounded like a rehearsed reply and said, “I do not do interviews with CNN because I do not trust CNN to be honorable or truthful.”

Acosta attempted to ask a follow-up question but was cut off as Brooks said, “I’ve already said what I’m going to say. I don’t trust y’all to be truthful or honest.”

“You guys will lie through your teeth”

The reporter then seemingly pleaded his innocence and continued to press the matter, but the GOP congressman said “See ya” as he mounted his bicycle and, as he rode away, added, “You guys will lie through your teeth any chance you get.”

Keeping with his “just asking fair questions” charade, Acosta shouted at the departing Brooks that he was welcome to come on his CNN weekend program any time he’d like. Acosta later posted the exchange to his own Twitter account.

Acosta deserves such earned treatment

Acosta likes to portray himself as a serious journalist in search of nothing but the truth, but in reality, he has fully exposed himself as a partisan hack that nobody should ever take seriously.

Brooks was 100% correct to call out Acosta and CNN for their dishonest partisan hackery, and his response should provide an example for every other Republican, whether conservative or moderate, to follow when approached by Acosta or any other representative of “fake news” CNN.

The response from Brooks to Acosta was both deserved and earned, and Acosta has nobody to blame but himself for his reputation as a fraudulent “journalist,” which was proven — countless times — during Trump’s tenure in the White House.
