In protest of the Biden regime’s negligent border policy, Texas governor Greg Abbott (R) has begun sending busloads of illegal immigrants to Washington, D.C.
The first bus arrived only blocks away from the Capitol on Wednesday, Fox News reported.
A busload of illegals arrives in D.C.
The bus carried dozens of migrants from Del Rio, Texas. They originally came from Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. A photograph from Fox News shows them on the sidewalk with the Capitol dome very clearly in the background. The migrants briefly checked in with officials and then went on their way, Fox reported.
The migrants were sent voluntarily. Abbott said that his move was a response to Biden’s reckless policy of dumping foreign nationals in border communities.
“By busing migrants to Washington, D.C., the Biden Administration will be able to more immediately meet the needs of the people they are allowing to cross our border. Texas should not have to bear the burden of the Biden Administration’s failure to secure our border,” he said.
Biden press secretary Jen Psaki blasted Abbott’s move as an illegal “publicity stunt,” saying, “enforcement of our country’s immigration laws lies with the federal government, not a state.”
Biden sponsoring invasion
But as Abbott has repeatedly pointed out, the Biden administration has stubbornly ignored its duty to secure the border. As a result, illegal immigration has skyrocketed — leaving Americans everywhere, but especially near the border, to suffer the consequences.
“Texans demand and deserve an aggressive, comprehensive strategy to secure our border—not President Biden’s lackluster leadership,” Abbott said.
Unfortunately, Biden seems determined to exacerbate the crisis as much as possible: his reckless decision to end the Title 42 policy could result in as many as 18,000 migrants storming the border every day.
Sending migrants to D.C. is not a permanent solution to the invasion that Biden has fomented. Psaki even seemed to cheekily thank Abbott Wednesday for helping migrants reach their “final destination.”
“These are all migrants who have been processed by CBP and are free to travel, so it’s nice the state of Texas is helping them get to their final destination.”
