California sheriff’s union warns deputies will quit or retire if forced to vaccinate

As more organizations, companies, and other entities mandate COVID-19 vaccines for members and employees, the consequences of taking away the freedom for an American to choose whether or not to take the shot could be disastrous.

According to Fox News, such consequences could soon play out in San Francisco, California, as representatives of a sheriff’s union have warned city officials that a number of law enforcement officers will either outright quit, or exercise early retirement if they’re forced to comply with a recent COVID-19 vaccine mandate with a deadline of Sept. 15.

Deputies that refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccination face the possibility of termination.

What’s going on?

A representative for the San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (SFSO) made crystal clear in a recent social media post that if deputies are forced to vaccinate as a condition of employment, the police force will rapidly shrink.

“The problem we are faced with now is the strict San Francisco Mandate which is vaccinate or be terminated,” the SFSO wrote.

“If deputy sheriffs are forced to vaccinate a percentage of them will retire early or seek employment elsewhere,” the post continued.

The post went on to explain that it believes a majority of its members have already taken the COVID-19 vaccination, arguing that the wearing of masks should suffice for the remaining percentage of unvaccinated deputies.

“Approximately 160 out 700 Deputy Sheriffs [that] are not vaccinated prefer to mask and test weekly instead of being vaccinated due to religious and other beliefs,” the SFSO added.

Really bad timing

In case you haven’t heard, San Francisco, once a beautiful, prosperous city that most Americans would have loved to live in, is now riddled with crime, an unprecedented drug-use epidemic, and a homeless population that continues to skyrocket.

In other words, crime is surging. Every single sheriff’s deputy is needed, and the union made clear that now is not the time for the city to test its luck. The union wrote that it “can’t afford” to lose any law enforcement officers at the current time.

Cities around the country are forcing workers and public servants to vaccinate or risk no longer being employed. New York City was the first city to institute a vaccine mandate for everyday actions like going out to eat or catching a show at an entertainment venue.

Many, including Dr. Tony Fauci, believe that once the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) places its stamp of approval on one or more of the available COVID-19 vaccines, additional cities and organizations will follow suit with vaccine mandates, setting up the country for utter disaster.
