Fox contributor Dan Bongino confirms cancer diagnosis: ‘It’s lymphoma’

Fox News contributor and conservative radio and podcast host Dan Bongino has confirmed that “he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma,” the Washington Examiner reports.

The former Secret Service agent and current host of The Dan Bongino Show told listeners Friday that he has cancer, but that “it is treatable.”

“We did get a diagnosis yesterday from my doctor,” he said, according to the Examiner. “Unfortunately, it is cancer. It’s lymphoma, the Hodgkin’s type. But it is treatable.”

“I am optimistic”

Bongino went on to say it was difficult for him to announce his diagnosis. Nonetheless, he remains optimistic.

“I do have cancer, and that is hard for me to say,” he told listeners to his radio show Friday, according to the Examiner. “But we’ll be OK, and I am optimistic. That’s not some act I’m putting on for the show.”

Bongino also thanked listeners for what he described as an “overwhelming amount of support.”

“It’ll be okay”

Bongino first revealed in late September that a tumor had been found in his neck. “It’s a tumor, but there’s a strong likelihood that it is not cancerous,” he said at the time, as the Examiner reportedly separately. “We don’t know what it is.”

Bongino added: “It’s in a very weird spot in my neck near my carotid artery, near vocal cords and things, and it is big. It’s seven centimeters… It’s scary.”

A few weeks later, Bongino shared in a tweet that he had undergone successful surgery to remove the tumor, according to the Examiner. It was then that he foreshadowed what later became his official diagnosis.
