As Democrats prepare to take control of Washington D.C., Fox host Tucker Carlson has a dire warning for Americans watching the spectacle unfold.
Despite President-elect Joe Biden’s promises to promote “unity” and “healing,” Carlson just confirmed during his Monday monologue that the incoming administration and legislature has something very different in mind.
Gaining some perspective
In preparation for Biden’s Wednesday inauguration, the capitol has been occupied by tens of thousands of national guard and active-duty military members. The public will not be allowed to attend the inauguration, as has been the custom for hundreds of years, and the streets of D.C. will be strictly controlled throughout the week.
Democrats claim that the outsized security measures were initiated in response to the January 6th riots, but Carlson says their intentions are much more sinister.
“Our capital city, Washington is under military occupation tonight,” Carlson began. “By Inauguration Day, there are expected to be more than 26,000 armed Federal troops in Washington.”
“No living American has seen a moment like the one we’re watching now; 26,000 soldiers, that’s more than five times the number of American military personnel currently stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan combined,” he continued. “That is more than twice the number of troops that President Lyndon Johnson ordered to Washington in April of 1968.”
Carlson noted that the 1968 riots caused untold destruction and over a dozen deaths, but still didn’t receive as much military attention as the January 6th Capitol riot:
In April of 1968, Washington, D.C. was literally on fire. Race riots had broken out after the assassination of Martin Luther King, whose memory we celebrate today. More than a thousand people were injured in those riots and at least 13 of them died. Much of the capital was leveled, and it stayed that way. Blocks of charred rubble for decades. If you visited Washington in the 1990s, you’ll remember what it looked like.
But according to our current leaders, the so-called insurrection of January 6th was much worse than any of that. So far, here’s the death toll from that day. A police officer was hit in the head by rioters then later had a stroke and died at a local hospital. An unarmed protester was shot to death by authorities as she tried to climb through a window, a woman may have been trampled to death by the crowd.
As of tonight, those are the three casualties we can confirm from the riot at the Capitol Building on January 6th. In response to that, our leaders have assembled the largest military presence in Washington in all of American history during peacetime.
Flexing their muscle
As Carlson noted, despite Democrat leaders’ hyperventilation about safety and preventing unrest, Washington D.C. has been incredibly dangerous for months, with the murder rate skyrocketing for months. When President Trump reacted to Black Lives Matter’s assault on the White House over the summer, he was called a dictator.
It’s not about safety, Carlson declared. “Instead, unmistakably, the Democratic Party is using those troops to send the rest of us a message about power: ‘We’re in charge now,’” he said. “‘We run this nation from Honolulu to our colony in the Caribbean, and everything in between very much, including where you and your family live. Do not question us. Men with guns enforce our decrees, we control the Pentagon.'”
Not only are Democrat leaders flexing their muscle by calling up national guard troops from every state in the union to occupy Washington, but Carlson also pointed out that the military itself has been co-opted by a political party, vetting the incoming troops for party loyalty, not loyalty to the nation. Officials claim incoming troops pose a danger simply because they are majority white and male — despite there being no evidence of any potential insider attacks.
Republicans didn’t escape criticism from Carlson either, as he noted that GOP politicians in Washington have been completely silent about the unprecedented occupation of the Capitol.
“The Democratic Party is using the military of the United States, which they do not own as a political weapon. But Republicans in Congress just can’t be bothered to notice that,” he explained. “Something awful has been unleashed on our country; unchecked, it will inevitably lead to more awful things,” Carlson warned. “Every action provokes a reaction — that is Physics, it is also human nature.
