China seems to be taking a number of extreme measures to control the most recent COVID-19 outbreak.
Breitbart reports that the communist Beijing government has decided to cancel all large-scale events that were scheduled for the month of August as a measure to hopefully mitigate the spread of the virus.
This includes the third annual World 5G Conference that was scheduled to take place this weekend. The conference is one of the biggest events for the mobile internet industry, and it would have included telecom titans Qualcomm, and Nokia.
It is unclear, however, whether the World Robot Conference, another massive and popular event that brings in hundreds of thousands of people, will still take place. It is scheduled for later this month.
The news comes in response to China’s latest COVID-19 outbreak. On Aug. 4, China claimed that it had its most infections since late January, and on Aug. 5 that number was 124 daily cases. Between July 20 and Aug. 3, the country reported 485 local cases.
China believes that its latest outbreak of the virus began on July 20.
Officials have traced the outbreak to the Nanjing Lukou International Airport, which is located in eastern Jiangsu province. It is believed that on July 20, COVID-19 was spread and that the current surge in cases is a direct result of that spreader event.
Of course, it’s unknown how true any of that information is, as it originates from China’s state-run media industry. China has been accused in the past of lying about all aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic, including its actual number of infections.
The communist approach
China has reacted to the new surge in COVID-19 cases exactly how one would expect a communist regime to react.
The shutting down of all large-scale events is only part of the regime’s plan to bring the spread of the virus under control. Beijing has essentially been put in a lockdown, completely with transportation restrictions and compulsory COVID-19 testing programs being relaunched.
In addition, there have been limits placed on how many people can enter various public places, such as libraries, cinemas, and parks.
It probably won’t be long before the communist regime will announce that its swift action, once again, reined the virus in. Then, as it has in the past, China will exclaim itself to be a model for the world to follow, and many, unfortunately, will believe it.
