CNN guest unwittingly admits why the left is distraught about Musk’s Twitter acquisition

A CNN guest, according to Breitbart News, just admitted that the real reason why so many on the left, including himself, are so upset about Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter is that they will no longer be able to control the political narrative.

The CNN guest who went on the rant is called David Zurawik.

Zurawik was part of a round table discussion that CNN hosted Sunday on Reliable Sources. Other participants included Brian Stelter and April Ryan.

“There’s a bigger problem”

At one point during the round table discussion, Zurawik went on a rant about how Musk’s acquisition of Twitter presents the political left with “a bigger problem.”

“There’s a bigger problem here about how we are going to control the channels of communication in this country,” Zurawik said.

From there he goes on some bizarre tangent about giving control over internet speech to the likes of Musk and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, which he called “dangerous.”

“You need regulation,” Zurawik continued. “You cannot let these guys control discourse in this country, or we are headed to hell. We are there. [Former President Donald] Trump opened the gates of hell, and now they’re chasing us down.”

What?!

As is often the case when leftists go on such rants, it is almost impossible to connect the dots. The logic just isn’t there. But, what is there is an admission – an admission that the political left has a desire to control speech in order to control the political narrative.

What else could Zurawik have meant when he said “there’s a bigger problem here about how we are going to control the channels of communication in this country?” He was fairly explicit.

As the Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson recently pointed out, the “bigger problem” for the left, with Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, is that, unlike previous ownership, he has no plans to censor speech, particularly conservative speech. Instead, he wants to turn the platform back into a free speech zone.

This means that the political left is no longer going to get assistance in controlling the narrative from Twitter, as it did, for example, in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election when Twitter censored the Hunter Biden laptop revelation.

That’s a game-changer, and it’s the precise reason why the left is so upset about Musk’s Twitter acquisition. Zurawik just admitted it.
