Since long before he took over the White House, President Joe Biden has enjoyed almost unlimited protection from scandal and negativity thanks to his party’s allies in a bulk of the mainstream media.
However, as Fox News recently noted, that protection has seemingly ended after Biden’s latest debacle, which included letting the Taliban takeover Afghanistan in a matter of roughly 11 days, as a CNN panel full of liberal pundits slammed Biden for his “disconnect” on the issue, even calling the president’s messaging “bizarre.”
CNN goes all in
Not surprisingly, the Sunday morning talk show circuit, across all major media networks, was solely focused on the foreign policy disaster that is currently unfolding in Afghanistan.
In one particular CNN panel during an airing of Inside Politics, several of the left-leaning panelists were not shy in their negative assessment of how Biden has approached the humiliating blunder in Afghanistan.
“There’s a serious disconnect between the messaging from the Biden administration, which is essentially, ‘We’ve got this, we have a plan, we’re getting this under control. If you want to get out of Afghanistan, you can,'” Julie Pace of the Associated Press said.
Pace added: “And then what we’re seeing on the ground from really brave reporters who are there, from a lot of Afghan civilians who are sharing pictures of images of the scene outside the airport where, no, you cannot get out if you want to get out.”
Of course, Pace was referencing the assurances that Biden and many of his top officials have repeated in press conferences that Americans shouldn’t be having any problems getting through Taliban checkpoints on their way to Hamid Karzai International Airport, which, as reported, is simply untrue.
It was “bizarre”
The panel generally agreed with one another that the Biden administration’s approach to the unfolding situation was tone-deaf and off-center. One panelist, CNN’s chief national affairs correspondent Jeff Zeleny, assessed Biden’s insistence that he wasn’t being criticized on the world stage as “bizarre.”
“You have to question, is the president insulated, isolated?” Zeleny said. “On Friday it was almost bizarre. What he was saying did not match the reality of what some of his other advisers were saying.”
Zeleny doubled down, adding: “I think this will be a very defining moment in the Biden presidency about what we learn of him as president, but it seems to me he’s a bit insulated or isolated inside the White House.”
New reports have emerged over the weekend that Americans now face the possibility of attacks launched by members of the Islamic State (ISIS) as they attempt to flee the airport, which also contradicts Biden’s messaging on the situation.
Only time will tell how this debacle ends, but with Biden losing cover from CNN and his media allies, it further proves how much of an enormous hole Biden and his officials have dug themselves into. Getting out of that hole looks to be virtually impossible at this point.
