‘Stabbed in the back’: Columnist blasts Fox News over election coverage

Fox News has seen its popularity in a nosedive recently, with the USA Today reporting that the network’s Saturday viewership lagged behind both CNN’s and MSNBC’s, a stark change from months of Fox leading the pack.

Much of the change is likely due to Fox News’ conservative fanbase feeling betrayed by the media giant, which, according to Breitbart’s John Nolte, has “exposed” itself as even worse than CNN with its coverage of the 2020 election.

“Fox News laughs at us, mocks us, betrays us over and over and over again while posing as ‘fair and balanced,’ while posing as ‘different from the mainstream media,’ while posing as one of us,” Nolte wrote in a Wednesday column.

“The Mighty Fox News Channel”

To back up his point, the Breitbart columnist shared video footage of Fox anchor Sandra Smith reacting with “elitist contempt” toward Cleta Mitchell, an attorney who had dared to “question The Mighty Fox News Channel’s decision to declare His Fraudulency Joe Biden the winner of a hotly contested presidential election,” Nolte wrote.

“What?” asked Smith, who apparently didn’t realize that she was still on-air. “What is happening?” the anchor continued, shaking her head derisively. “We’ve called it.”

It doesn’t end there

But Nolte didn’t stop there: the Breitbart columnist also took issue with the network’s decision to call Arizona for former Vice President Joe Biden on election night, despite the fact that the count continues there to this day.

As of Thursday, just over 11,000 ballots separated the two presidential candidates in Arizona, according to Fox’s own reporting, as Trump’s legal team was headed to court over allegations of voting irregularities in the state.

Another example of Fox letting down viewers, Nolte noted, could be seen in Fox Business host Neil Cavuto’s decision to cut away from White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany while she spoke about similar election improprieties.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, I just think we have to be very clear,” Cavuto interrupted, as the Washington Examiner reported. “She’s charging the other side is welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting. Unless she has more details to back that up, I can’t in good countenance continue showing you this.”

Nolte doubles down

As far as Nolte is concerned, it’s long past time for conservative views to turn the channel. “Stop being a sucker,” he told readers Wednesday.

“There is no doubt in my mind that Fox News just howls with laughter and ridicule at those faithful Fox News viewers who allow themselves to stabbed in the back over and over and over again,” Nolte added. “Stop watching Fox News.”
