President Joe Biden got visibly confused while answering a question about Russia during an unscripted photo-op, according to Breitbart News.
The question was put to him while checking out at a farmers market Saturday in Central Lake, MI where someone offscreen asked permission to ask a question.
After receiving the permission the woman asked about “the most recent hack by the Russians,” going on to ask about what the president sees as the repercussions of such an act on the part of the nuclear superpower.
Biden, however, interrupted her saying, quickly that they were “not sure” it was the Russians that perpetrated the hack.
The president then proceeded to get further confused, take out a sheet of paper and talk about how if they were to find out who it was, they would deploy the government, but again, they don’t know.
“I got a brief while I was on the plane. That’s why I was late getting off the plane. I got a brief. I’ll be in better shape to talk to you about it, hang on a second.”
After taking notes out of his pocket, Biden consulted them and said, “I’ll tell you what they sent me.”
“…first of all, we’re not sure who it is, for certain, number one, and what I did, I directed the full resources of the government to assist in a our response if we determine …
“And the fact is that the director of the intelligence community gave me a deep dive on what’s happened and I’ll know better tomorrow, and if it is either with the knowledge of, and/or a consequence of Russia, then I told Putin we will respond.”
The woman who asked the first question followed up asking, “You did tell [Putin] already, sir?”
“No, no, I haven’t called, because we’re not certain,” Biden replied. “The initial thinking was it was not the Russian government, but we’re not sure yet.”
The president has been the victim of more than one major gaffe in his time in the spotlight, but his answers in Michigan only serve to remind conservatives about their concerns as to his mental health.
